Local business and organizations that have experienced the negative economic, health, and safety impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and are located in or serve residents of Alameda County Supervisorial District 5 are invited to apply for a District 5 ARPA Community Needs Cash Aid Grant.

In this final round of funding, Supervisor Carson is prioritizing small businesses. Each applicant is eligible for a grant of up to $100,000.

General Eligibility Requirements

  • Operates a for-profit business located in Alameda County’s 5th District.
  • Must have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, resulting in a loss of income that meets or exceeds the grant amount requested.
  • Has not been a previous recipient of ARPA funding.
  • Holds the proper licenses and permits necessary to operate a business in Alameda County and the State of California.
  • Not facing any pending litigation or legal action.

Prioritization

  • Businesses in the hardest hit sectors, including restaurants, retail, hospitality, arts and entertainment, and other service sector businesses.
  • First time business owners.
  • Micro businesses (5 or fewer employees).
  • Businesses that have a community engagement component and/or hires from historically marginalized communities.
